Gluten-Free Mama’s Almond Blend Flour is my favorite wheat-free flour to use in all my baking recipes.
I discovered this amazing gluten-free flour when we were living in Montana. One of the local grocery stores carried Mama’s Almond and Coconut Blend flours as well as a few other products from her gluten-free line.
Why Gluten-Free Mama’s Flour is My Favorite Blend
Yes, I could make my own gluten-free flour blend. However, we live in a tiny house with limited storage space. I also like the freedom of buying one flour which saves time and money.
I could purchase one 2-pound bag for about the same price as one gluten-free cookie or cake mix. I had tried quite a few gluten-free mixes that were both spendy and lacking in quality and taste. Who wants to break the bank on a product that tastes like sand? Measuring cup-for-cup to wheat flour, this flour rocks when making any gluten-free recipe or converting a gluten laden recipe.
There is a perfect blend of gluten-free ingredients in this all purpose flour: White Rice Flour, Tapioca Flour, Potato Starch, Almond Meal and Sweet Rice Flour. Warning: if you or someone in your family has nut allergies, this flour is not for you. Don’t dispair. Mama’s Coconut Blend Flour is an excellent alternative. Both flours come in two and four pound sizes for all of your cooking and baking needs.
This gluten-free flour blend does not contain a binder, such as xanthan gum, already included in the mix. This means I can control how much binder is used in each recipe. Having that control is a big win regarding how my baked goods taste.
Gluten Free Mama’s Best Baking Recipes was the very first cookbook I bought. I read it cover to cover and studied each gluten-free recipe until I almost knew them from memory. It was not long after, I felt confident to start converting my favorite recipes to gluten-free.
In a hurry and need a mix? You will love this gluten-free line including: Mama’s Pizza Crust Mix, Mama’s Pancake Mix, Mama’s Pie Crust Mix, Mama’s Cookie Mix and Mama’s Scone Mix.
